Laurence Kennedy, MD

Dr. Kennedy is Professor and Chief of Endocrinology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Florida, Gainesville and a respected clinician who has lectured widely in the US and abroad and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. Dr. Kennedy is the author of 80 original publications concerning diabetes and endocrine diseases. He is a frequent reviewer for scholarly journals including Diabetes, Diabetes Care, Diabetologia and Metabolism, and was Associate Editor of the Year Book in Endocrinology. Dr. Kennedy had served as Principal Investigator in several Phase 1-3 clinical trials of new drugs.

Fuad N. Ziyadeh, MD

Dr. Ziyadeh is Professor of Medicine, a senior Nephrologist at the University of Pennsylvania, and a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Subspecialty Board in Nephrology. The author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals, Dr. Ziyadeh is internationally known for his seminal contributions to the understanding of diabetic renal disease. He has served on numerous NIH study sections and editorial boards of leading journals, and is currently Associate Editor of the journal Diabetes.
